Principle:  Gratifying our desires for pleasures through foods, sex, television along with other pastimes conceals the emptiness within.  That emptiness is spiritual hunger.  Our soul needs satisfaction.  There are lots of levels of our own being, and we often do not take an alternative method of fulfillment on all these levels.  We usually only see the easiest, surface level needs -and try to fulfill ourselves on a physical level.

 

“Brahma” = the Originator “Charya” = instructor or guide  The word Brahmacharya is derived from the two words Brahma and acharya or even charya (take your own pick). Brahma is actually God being the creator or progenitor, acharya is instructor and charya means wedded to. Thus you could point out brahmacharya means being wedded to Brahma or “to remain connected to Source” as well as to stay constant with it

 

“This day, I’m moderate, focused, and complete. I personally use my energy in ways which guide me nearer to my Source. I handle myself and other people with respect, recognizing the inherent Divinity of people.”

 

Neither worrying nor repressing, make peace with your sensual urges or virtually any pursuits that pull you off-center from your Source. Avoid overindulgence of mind, intelligence, speech, and body.

 

Developmental Phases:

 

1.Self-containment through reasonable sexuality and diet.

 

2.Absolutely no thoughts of previous or upcoming sense pleasures.

 

3.Freedom from attachment to pleasure.

 

4.Free from duality and the false impression that you’re incomplete.

 

5.Inner peace.

 

6.Continuous internal Ecstasy, exchanging outward emphasis of sensual/sexual energies.

 

Be reasonable in moderation also, so it’s not a problem. It’s a beautiful exercise. It is regarding moderating the extremes and not desiring an excessive amount (consumerism). Brahmacharya brings out the FIRE within your spirit. Many energies show up. If this comes up, allow it to burn – smothering issues just makes these smolder.
